Main Road Medical is a mixed-billing practice

Certain services incur out of pocket fees. Bulk-billing service is also available. Please enquire at reception or refer to each health professional’s fee schedule.

Please provide the reception with your card when you attend your consultation. We will assist you in claiming your Medicare or DVA rebate.

All procedures
Privately billed

For procedures including, but not limited to, Implanon insertion/removal, Abscess Drainage, Skin Biopsy, Nasal Cauterisation, Skin Excisions, Wound & Burn Dressings, and 24 hour ambulatory BP monitor there will be an out of pocket fee.

Payment needs to be made in full on the day of the consult. Payment can be made by cash, credit cards (Visa or Mastercard only) and EFTPOS. We use Medicare Easy Claim EFTPOS machine and any Medicare rebates will be reimbursed directly to your bank account.

Privately billed

Please note there may be no rebate from Medicare for some of these consultations and assessments, however in some instances you may be able to claim from your work place or private insurer.

HOME VISITS

In certain circumstances, doctors may provide Home Visit service for regular patients of the clinic after 6:00 pm. Please note a full private fees of $320 apply for all home visits (approximately $180 out of pocket)

SPECIALIST REFERRALS. PATHOLOGY & IMAGING

You may be referred to non-GP specialists by your doctor from time to time. Most non-GP specialist consultations are privately billed (with an out of pocket fees on top of your Medicare rebate). Please make sure you have an up to date referral letter before booking a non-GP specialist appointment. Please confirm with the non-GP specialist reception about the out of pocket fees before having the consultation.

The majority of pathology tests and imaging studies are bulk billed with no cost to the patient. However, the service providers (pathology labs and medical imaging companies) do charge fees for certain services, for example Percept/Harmony (Pre-natal) Test, Quantiferon Gold (TB Test), 24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring, Thyroid nodule aspiration, USS/CT guided injection, MRI scan ...
