WORKCOVER CLAIMS

If you become injured at work, you need to notify your employer in writing within 30 days (even if you don't intend to claim for compensation from WorkCover Insurance). If your injury involved a motor vehicle accident, you must also report the accident to the police.

WorkCover related standard and long consultations are charged privately with a gap of $40.

If your employer accepts liabilities, they usually will pay the first 10 days of your incapacity for work and the first $692 (as of 2017) for the reasonable costs of medical and related expenses you requires (unless they took out the buy-out option on their WorkCover insurance). After this excess amount has been paid by your employer, your WorkSafe Agent will work directly with you to pay for treatment.
